Smh... I don't know what else to do...

SO, we went by the house today excited about seeing more progress. There were no workers around so we decided to sneak a peak inside. Framing is completely done now, the roof is on, AC ducts have been installed, plumbing has started.. not sure if they have completed it yet.

Although we are happy about the progress, we have found several mistakes. First, remember that extra window that was in the master bathroom? The one that was for a different bathroom layout that was patched up? Well, unfortunately the square footage in the bedroom was suppose to increase with the bathroom layout we have. It has not. So, they patched the window hole but did not move the wall. Pics posted below to explain it better.  We also noticed that the plumbing in the master bath was only on one side of the shower. We should have two shower heads, one on each side.

Incorrect layout with smaller master bedroom, note the extra window in the master bath

Correct layout with larger master bedroom

Last but not least. We are suppose to have the upgraded 30 year warranty roof shingles. This is a photo of some leftover shingles that was laying on the ground.

The hubby is pretty pissed and so am I. This is too many mistakes to be so early in the progress. Now they have to move walls, patch holes, and redo plumbing and AC ducts... That may mean closing later.... Smh... We have requested a meeting with our PM at the house ASAP. I don't want to feel like I am bothering him but we keep finding things!

Mistake #1...

I knew it would happen eventually, I just didn't think it would be this soon. While admiring the last pic I posted of the house framed, I noticed that there was an extra window on the second floor. Because we chose the alternate layout in the master bath, there should not be a window there.

Lets back track to the pro-construction meeting. One of the "minor" things that was incorrect was the master bath layout. The PM was not aware that we changed from the tub+shower combo to just the shower. No big deal right? Until the house is built with the old option.... Anyway I caught this on Friday and sent a text plus emailed a picture to our PM. No response. I called him the next day and asked if he got my email. Yes, he says... Couldn't he have sent a reply saying that??? Not very courteous in my opinion.

Turns out I was right. The construction team had the wrong plans. Good thing I am super on it, or who knows when that would have been discovered. So that was Friday. The crew worked through the weekend and today. The hubby and I stopped by today after work....  Roof on now, window still there...

Small window on second floor

UPDATE:
The window is gone! Our PM sent me an email saying that he gave the updated plans to the construction crew and they have already made the changes. He insured us that he would check the workmanship of the repair before starting the next phase of the build. :)

Whooop whooop!

FRAMING!!

After a long and tiring day today I decided to ride by our lot for a pick-me-up and this is what I saw.....   :D

Men busy working! From this angle it kinda looks like the second floor isn't tall enough, but that's probably just be due to the angle right? I was so happy to see them there! I took a quick picture and got out of their way. Hopefully the good weather holds out!  :)

So close!

Today we went by desperately hoping the framing had begun. It hadn't... BUT we do have goodies!!!! It can't be long now right???

Windows!!! I love the oval one :)

Front door.... I think

Back door! My husband just found out about this upgrade... I was sneaky :)

Stairs, I had no idea they were shipped like this

Random wood

Crawl space. Foundation completed

I am beyond grateful for our progress, but I do hope we see more very soon...

Forgot to mention..

Our Pre-construction meeting went well. :) Our PM is very knowledgeable and seems super nice. I think he will be easy to work with. I have only had a few questions so far but he responds to them almost immediately. He really wants us to be happy with our home and encouraged us to let him know if there is anything we see that we think needs to be fixed. There were only a few details about selections that needed to be clarified.

As far as progress, the foundation is completed. Below is a picture of the garage. :) Next is back filling (I think that's just pushing the dirt back up to the foundation to cover the concrete blocks)  and then framing. Yay!

New stuff!!!

SO..... :) Since my last post we have had footers done (whatever that is, my husband tried to explain it to me but he was speaking another language) and today when we pulled up to our lot there was cement blocks and brick on our lot! Whoohooo! Hopefully the foundation will be done this week!

Panoramic view of footers, feel free to explain to me what this is...
